A WISHING WELL
I wish I
Could just stop thinking.
I wish that I
Did not know.
I wish that I
Had never learned
How it feels
To live on earth.
I wish my body
Could stop this aching
I wish my brain
Would learn to slow.
I wish my soul
Was somewhere else
Some other land, some other zone.
But here I am
Alone again,
Not wanting to return,
Not wanting to go on.
What can I do?
So unconstrained with you.
Don't push me away
Come on in here and play!
We'll talk about this
Some other day.
