WITH ARMS WIDE OPEN

I stayed inside most of the day.

The thought of night seemed so far away.

But finally when the night approached

I stepped outside about to touch the porch

To see that the sky was not quite dark

And filled from horizon and back

With the most beautiful color of indigo blue.

And at that very moment I thought about you.

I remembered you saying how beautiful the color was,

And with my arms wide open

I just wanted to hold all the glistening stars

And the bright yellow moon.

I felt this was as close as I could come to touch you.

So if ever you glance into an indigo sky,

Think of me walking next to an ocean so blue,

I’ll have my arms wide open

And waiting for you.

Most important please remember

How much I love you.
